Terms & Conditions

Everything you need to know when shopping with Hampers for Horses.

Last updated: September 2026

1. About Hampers for Horses

Hampers for Horses is an online retailer offering thoughtfully selected gifts and products for horses, riders and horse lovers.

These Terms & Conditions apply when you use our website or place an order with us. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Hampers for Horses is operated as a sole trader in the United Kingdom.

Our contact details are available on our Contact page.

2. Our Products

We take care to describe and display our products as accurately as possible.

Product photographs are intended to provide a fair representation of the items being sold. However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen or device.

Where a hamper or gift set is shown styled for photography, the exact positioning of products, tissue paper, ribbon or other presentation materials may vary.

You will always receive the products included in the description of the item you purchase, subject to the stock and substitution provisions set out below.

3. Build Your Own Hampers

Our Build Your Own service allows you to select a hamper carrier and choose individual products to create your own gift.

Each carrier has a recommended capacity to help ensure that the finished hamper can be presented and packaged appropriately.

Customers are responsible for checking that the items they select are suitable for the intended recipient.

Selecting the individual contents of a Build Your Own hamper does not in itself make the entire order a personalised or custom-made product.

Any individual item that has been specifically personalised or made to the customer’s specification will be treated separately under the personalised-products section below.

4. Personalised Products

Some products may be personalised with names, messages, lettering or other customer-supplied information.

Please check all personalisation details carefully before submitting your order. We are not responsible for spelling mistakes or other errors entered by the customer.

Personalised or custom-made items cannot normally be cancelled or returned simply because you have changed your mind once the personalisation process has begun.

This does not affect your legal rights where an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Because personalised items are individually produced, there may be small variations in placement, colour, finish or appearance. These natural variations are not considered faults where the item remains consistent with the description and personalisation requested.

5. Prices

All prices shown on our website are in pounds sterling (£).

Hampers for Horses is not currently VAT registered, therefore VAT is not added separately to the prices shown.

Delivery charges, where applicable, will be displayed before you complete checkout.

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If we discover an obvious pricing error before accepting your order, we will contact you and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order.

6. Placing an Order

When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your basket.

You are responsible for checking that all information supplied during checkout, including delivery details and personalisation information, is correct.

After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation by email.

A contract between you and Hampers for Horses is formed when we accept your order.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where, for example:

  • a product is unavailable;
  • there has been an obvious pricing or product-description error;
  • payment has not been authorised;
  • we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity; or
  • we are unable to fulfil a personalisation request.

7. Payment

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available at checkout.

Payment will normally be taken when your order is placed.

Your order will not be processed until payment has been successfully authorised.

We do not store your full card details. Card and other electronic payments are processed by the payment provider shown during checkout.

8. Stock and Availability

All products are subject to availability.

We make reasonable efforts to keep stock information accurate, but occasionally an item may become unavailable after an order has been placed.

If this happens, we may contact you to offer:

  • a suitable alternative;
  • removal of the unavailable item with an appropriate refund; or
  • cancellation and refund of the affected part of the order.

We will not substitute an item with a materially different product without your agreement.

9. Delivery

We currently deliver to addresses within the areas shown on our Delivery Information page.

Estimated dispatch and delivery times will be displayed on the website or communicated after your order is placed.

Personalised products may require additional preparation time.

We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, although we will always try to keep you informed of significant delays.

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

More detailed information about dispatch times, delivery charges and couriers can be found on our Delivery Information page.

10. Cancelling an Order

If you are a UK consumer purchasing online, you will normally have the right to cancel an order within 14 days after receiving the goods, without needing to give a reason.

To cancel an eligible order, please contact us clearly stating that you wish to cancel.

Once you notify us of your cancellation, you will normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.

The right to cancel does not normally apply to certain goods, including personalised or custom-made products and some perishable goods.

Your statutory rights are unaffected.

11. Returns and Refunds

If you change your mind about an eligible non-personalised product, you must notify us within 14 days of receiving your order.

You will then normally have a further 14 days to return the item to us.

Returned goods should be unused, in good condition and, where reasonably possible, returned with their original packaging.

You may inspect goods in the same way that you reasonably would in a physical shop. If goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, we may be entitled to reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value.

Unless the goods are faulty, damaged or incorrect, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning them.

Where a cancellation right applies, we will refund the price paid together with the cost of our standard delivery option. Any additional amount paid for an upgraded or premium delivery service does not normally have to be refunded.

Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method.

Full details will also be available on our Returns & Refunds page.

12. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incomplete or materially different from the description on our website, please contact us as soon as possible.

Where appropriate, we may ask you to provide photographs of the product and packaging so that we can investigate the issue.

Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, we may offer a replacement, repair, partial refund or full refund.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your rights under UK consumer law.

13. Horse Treats, Feed and Consumable Products

Some Hampers for Horses products include horse treats, feed products or other consumable items.

Customers should always check the manufacturer’s ingredient list, feeding instructions and suitability information before feeding any product.

It is the customer’s responsibility to consider whether a product is suitable for a particular horse or pony, especially where the animal has allergies, intolerances, metabolic conditions, dietary restrictions or veterinary requirements.

Do not feed any product after its stated expiry or best-before date.

Where products remain sealed and are sold in their original manufacturer’s packaging, the manufacturer’s instructions and safety information should be followed.

Nothing in this section excludes our responsibility for supplying products that meet the standards required by law.

14. Gift Messages

Where a complimentary or paid gift-message option is offered, we will reproduce the wording supplied by the customer as accurately as reasonably possible.

Please check spelling, names and punctuation before submitting your order.

We reserve the right to refuse messages that we reasonably consider unlawful, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate.

15. Promotions and Discount Codes

From time to time we may offer promotional discounts, voucher codes or special offers.

Unless stated otherwise:

  • promotions cannot be exchanged for cash;
  • only one promotional code may be used per order;
  • promotional codes must be entered before checkout is completed; and
  • offers may be withdrawn or amended where necessary.

Any additional terms applicable to a particular promotion will be displayed with that offer.

16. Website Use

You may use our website for personal and lawful purposes.

You must not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation, introduce malicious software or use it for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.

All website content, branding, product descriptions, graphics and original photography belonging to Hampers for Horses may not be copied, reproduced or commercially used without permission, except where permitted by law.

Third-party brand names, trademarks and product imagery remain the property of their respective owners.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, faulty goods or goods that are not as described.

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

If you are purchasing products primarily for business or commercial purposes, different legal rights may apply.

18. Events Outside Our Control

We will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this results from events outside our reasonable control.

Examples may include severe weather, transport disruption, postal or courier disruption, widespread technical failures, natural disasters or other exceptional events.

If such an event significantly affects your order, we will contact you where reasonably possible and take reasonable steps to minimise the impact.

19. Privacy and Personal Information

We use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information supplied when you place an order may be used to process payment, fulfil and deliver your order, communicate with you and meet our legal obligations.

Please see our Privacy Policy for full details of how personal information is collected, used, stored and shared.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website or legal requirements.

The terms that apply to your purchase will normally be those in force at the time you place your order.

The date at the top of this page shows when these terms were last updated.

21. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions and any contract between you and Hampers for Horses are governed by the laws applicable in the United Kingdom.

If you are a consumer, you will retain any rights you have under the law of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.

Nothing in these terms prevents you from exercising any statutory consumer rights available to you.
